So as a child, I grew up in India and dental awareness wasn't as prominent as it is in the US. So my mom had dental issues even when she was very young. So I used to go with her to the dental appointments and see that you know how much pain she was going through and she lost pretty much all her teeth before I could get into dental school.
That kind of influenced me to get into dentistry to kind of help out people and not lose their teeth at a young age. So I did my bachelor in dentistry in India and then I practiced there for a couple of years and then I moved to US and in order to practice in US you have to go back to dental school to get the license here. I did the two years of international dentist program and then gave your licensure exam and then I became a licensed dentist here.
So that was just the bachelor's, a doctor and dental surgery here. Dentistry is always evolving so to keep up with the techniques and technology I always enroll in all the continuing education courses and I did a preceptorship and implantology that was a 12 months course. To maintain a dental license you need to have certain amount of continuing education courses but we always go beyond and above what is the requirement.
So always keeping up with the technology and the new evolution that dentistry always brings up.
